Project Portfolio

This project took concepts from the Faraday generator principal to design and manufacture a self-sustaining flashlight. We designed a circtuitboard and housing unit and manufactured both in house.

This was part-two of a year long project to design and machine out a fully functional slap hammer from aluminum stock. Students practiced standard machining techniques on a mill and a lathe.

The Bridge project was a test in our knowledge of Statics. This bridge design was particularly impressive and strong due to its bow-like truss, fabricated out of the brittle balsa wood.

This project was split into 2 key components: mechanical design and software (as with most projects). The design, again, stretched my design muscles as I had to tolerance parts, fashion 3D printed mechanical parts, and packge components neatly.

This capstone to my Intro to Mechanical Engineering tied together all of the core concepts that we had learned throughout the semester. It was during this project that I found my love and knack for desgin, specifically in SolidWorks.
